More than 35 years ago, Penelope Bertelsen started Penelope's House of Fashion in the same location as it is today. Her daughter Rachelle Bertelsen has taken over the business, and constantly diversifies the stock to change with the demand of Penelopes' customers.

Penelopes of Otaki received an extensive interior make-over to reflect the elegance it deserves. The current lay-out features a modern ambience, better lighting and larger fitting rooms.

Over the years, our customer base has grown immensely - from Horowhenua and Kapiti local regulars, to customers from the Wairarapa, Wellington, Palmerston North and beyond.
